Method 2: Use a Regret Orb
The main way of getting respec points after completing all the side quests in the main story is through the in-game currency drop, a Regret Orb. This is an item that can drop from any monster in the game. Additionally, there are other ways of obtaining regret orbs at a more controlled rate.
Farming Regret Orbs: Vendor Exchange
If you go to a specific vendor in each act (except Act 1), you can exchange scouring orbs for regret orbs at a rate of 2 scours to 1 regret. This is a fairly expensive exchange compared to other methods of obtaining regret orbs.
Acts | Vendor Name |
---|---|
Act 2 | Trade with Yeena |
Act 3 | Trade with Clarissa |
Act 4 | Trade with Petarus and Vanja |
Act 5 | Trade with Lani |
Act 6 | Trade with Bestel |
Act 7 | Trade with Yeena |
Act 8 | Trade with Clarissa |
Act 9 | Trade with Petarus and Vanja |
Act 10 | Trade with Lani |
Epilogue | Trade with Lani |

Farming Regret Orbs: Farm Certain League-Specific Content
Certain league mechanics within Path of Exile that were integrated into the “core experience” can reward regret orbs at a high rate. To help you farm them, I’ve created a helpful list of league mechanics that can reward regret orbs. Speccing into these league mechanics on the Atlas Passive Tree can greatly boost the return rate of regret orbs, among other benefits.
Organized in order of Highest return per hour (Roughly)
- Expedition
- Heist
- Ritual
- Blight
- Delve
There may be other league mechanics that could award regret orbs at a high rate, but the one to really look out for is Expedition. Specifically, Tugen and his haggling mechanic.
Atlas Passive Tree Respec – Orb of Unmaking
To respec an Atlas Passive Tree point to farm other content more efficiently, you will need an Orb of Unmaking.
Where to Get Orbs of Unmaking:
- Trade Two Orbs of Regret to Kirac in your Hideout for one Orb of Unmaking
- Run maps – Any map monster can drop them (Rare drop)
- Farm the Divination card set Ever-Changing.
- Zone Level 68+ Required. Any 68+ zone has a chance of dropping this card.
- Farm The Maven
Farming Regret Orbs: Trading with Other Players
The fastest way to get regret orbs in bulk is to trade for them with other players. Using the official Path of Exile Trade website, you can quickly and easily set up and meet up with other players to make the transaction.
Though uncommon, you will want to be on the lookout for scams when interacting with other players. Carefully inspect any item within the trade window to see if that is the agreed upon item, checking things like Item level, item influences, and others, and being vigilant can help prevent you from losing out in a bad trade.
